About Us

Although there has always been a school on our site dating back to 1881, Lansdowne Infants was not officially opened until 1991.  This coincided with the opening of Eton Park Junior, our main partner school.

We are an academy within the de Ferrers Trust, providing education for pupils aged 3-7.

The de Ferrers Trust

The de Ferrers Trust is a mixed multi-academy trust based in Staffordshire and Derbyshire. Our trust currently consists of seven schools. We educate more than 5000 children and young people between the ages of 3 and 19 and employ over 600 members of staff.

We are a well-balanced trust, both in terms of school type and geography – our schools are all within 30 minutes’ travel of each other. We have an Infant school, a junior school, two primary schools including a Church of England school, an 11-16 school and two 11-19 schools that offer Sixth Form provision.

Our Vision:

To ensure that all the children and young people in our care have the opportunity to fulfil their potential through achieving highly, regardless of their ability or background.

Our Values:

Work hard, be kind, choose wisely.

All members of staff are expected to live these values and encourage the children in our care to do likewise. We are determined that our Vision and Values become a reality and not just words on a page.

To ensure that all the children and young people in our care have the opportunity to fulfil their potential through achieving highly, regardless of their ability or background.

Lansdowne Infants is a successful school.  We pride ourselves on our commitment to providing all pupils with a quality education which develops the whole child.  Our school is a happy, stimulating environment with a nurturing ethos.  Our children tell us they love to learn here!

At Lansdowne Infants we recognise you as the primary educator of your child and we look forward to working with you in order to make their time with us as successful as can be.

Equality Statement

At Lansdowne A de Ferrers Trust Academy we are committed to ensuring equality of opportunity in line with the Equality Act of October 2010 for all members of the academy community. This commitment applies to our work in the classroom, our pupil support systems, our recruitment and retention of staff and our work in the local and wider community.

We believe that equality should permeate all aspects of academy life and is the responsibility if every member of the academy and wider community. Every member of the academy should feel safe, secure, valued and of equal worth. Through our work in the classroom we will ensure that pupils understand the importance of equality and what forms discrimination can take and the impact discrimination can have. We will also seek to foster within our pupils their own commitment to promoting equality. Where pupils experience barriers to their success we will work with them to address these in a sensitive and sympathetic way. As a school we will ensure that all pupils have the opportunity to achieve the very best that they are capable of and we will also guide parents on how they can support their child's achievement. At Lansdowne we believe that equality is a key principle for treating people the same, irrespective of their:

  • Age
  • Disability
  • Gender re-assignment
  • Pregnancy and maternity
  • Race
  • Religion and belief
  • Sex
  • Sexual orientation
  • Marriage and civil partnership

Nor as a school or employer will we accept any of the following:

  • Direct Discrimination,
  • Associative discrimination,
  • Discrimination by perception,
  • Indirect Discrimination,
